Twin Towers of Tears
They tore a hole inside our hearts.
They blew
the towers down
By using planes with U.S. souls
To slay
this New York town.
The smoke; the steel; the stairwell path
That
carried lives to see
The shock of powdered streets of snow.
Look
up! Catastrophe!
Run you must and don’t look back.
Your eyes
can’t bear the view
Of paper, fire, imploding steel.
The
disappearing two.
And now the pile of twisted steel--
A catacomb
of hope,
Lies in wait with beating hearts
As warriors
lift and grope.
“Lift me, move me, haul me out.
Set free
the waiting brave
So crying moms and children’s hands
Can touch
the ones you love!”
New York, New York, our nation’s heart.
Oh Liberty
decree
That history will light the flame.
Reminding us we’re free.
Swift Justice now will settle fear.
Bold anger
mask the pain.
While flags are flown ‘round every turn.
While love
and prayers proclaim.
The enemy will never win!
The enemy
is vile.
The enemy will meet his fate.
Our God
will reconcile.
America. Oh Land of Faith.
Your
Strength of Spirit be
The Hope and Love that nations dream.
This Land.
Land of the Free.
